A Conservator is a person or entity appointed by the court to exercise the decision-making rights and duties of the person with a disability in one or more areas in which the person lacks capacity as determined and required by the orders of the court [TCA 34-1-101 (4)(A)<\/em>]. The Conservatorship Order for each person will define the authorities to which MDC has been assigned for the person.<\/p>\n MDC contracts with the Department of Disability and Aging to support people with intellectual and\/or developmental disabilities statewide. The MDC Conservatorship Program employs Conservator Representatives across the state to safeguard the individual\u2019s best interests while empowering them to participate in decisions to the fullest extent possible.
