Working Together for Stronger futures.

The Michael Dunn Center Therapy Department proudly opened its outpatient therapy clinic on April 4, 2018, marking a significant milestone in a vision that began in 2010. After completing Medicare credentialing, the Center welcomed its first licensed Speech Therapist in 2011, transitioning from previously contracted therapy providers to building its own in‑house clinical team.

Today, the Therapy Department offers a full continuum of Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy through a dedicated group of professionals, including Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, and a Speech‑Language Pathologist. In addition, Nutrition services are available through a contracted agency. These clinicians deliver high‑quality, person‑centered therapeutic services to individuals residing in Michael Dunn Center homes, as well as those supported by partner agencies with similar missions.

We remain committed to enhancing each person’s independence, functional abilities, and overall quality of life through evidence‑based, compassionate therapeutic care.

Success Story

I never knew how life-changing occupational therapy and physical therapy could be for my darling daughter, Chessie. I was struggling with bathing and walking with her, and I felt an overwhelming sense of despair, fearing that I would no longer be able to care for her.

Then a miracle happened—Summer and Autumn, two incredibly professional and compassionate therapists, arrived at our home. At the time, Chessie was very challenging, and I couldn’t imagine how therapy would help. I was so wrong.

Because of Summer and Autumn, bathing Chessie is now manageable, and I no longer feel afraid to walk with her. They have taught me so many safe ways to support her mobility without risking injury to either of us. They patiently trained me again and again until I felt confident and secure.

Chessie is now able to move her arm and scratch her head—something she hadn’t done in years. Summer has even helped her relearn how to eat with a spoon, a skill she lost long ago. Autumn has given me invaluable tools to keep Chessie walking and active.

I will be forever grateful for the care and dedication they have shown Chessie. She truly lights up when they arrive. They approach both Chessie and me with such loving kindness, and it means more than I can express.

Thank you for attracting such wonderful employees.

Sincerely,
Deni Kidd
